Self-PaySelf-paying patients
Self-paying patients can arrange a consultation directly. The consultation fees are separate from any investigations, scans or hospital treatment costs.
- Initial consultation: £200.
- One follow-on telephone consultation before surgery is included where required and arranged within six weeks of the initial consultation.
- Any follow-up consultation within the first 10 days after the operation is included where it relates directly to the surgery.
- Follow-up consultations outside these complementary conditions: £100.
- Tests or investigations required before surgery are charged separately and should be quoted clearly beforehand.
Cost of surgical treatment
Spire Hospital’s fixed price quote for treatment covers all the surgical treatment costs so you won’t get any unexpected bills or charges.

InsuranceInsured patients
Before your first consultation
Private medical insurers commonly require a referral and authorisation before treatment. You will need to provide policy documentation, insurer name, scheme details, membership or policy number, and any pre-authorisation or claim reference number to the bookings team.
Your insurance company can provide guidance on how to claim on your policy.
Before attending your first appointment, please contact your insurer to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on consultation fees and any excess on your policy.
Before and after surgical treatment
Check consultation, investigation, surgery and follow-up cover separately, because authorisation requirements may change as the treatment plan develops. Keep your insurer updated at every step.
